Frame to Frame

¤ Sholay, India's first film in 70mm stereophonic sound and perhaps India's biggest cult film, released. It broke all box-office records.

¤ Death of two great music director shook the country, Madan Mohan died on 14th July and S. D. Burman passed away on 31st October.

¤ Bhagwan's Albela re-released and attained a great success.

¤ Broadcasting of Kishore Kumar's films and songs banned on Doordarshan and All India Radio.

¤ Kishore Kumar married Yogita Bali. It was his third marriage.

Jagdeep
Syed Ishtiaq Ahmad Jafri, better known as Jagdeep, entered the film world with 1957's Bhabhi. Before this, he appeared in a few films as a child artist. He is known for his comic acts. His landmark act of Soorma Bhopali, in 1975's Sholay is still remembered. He even directed a film with the same name in 1988. He acted in over 200 films. He died on 8th July 2020.
