 R D Burman was an accomplished mouth organ player. He played mouth organ in the song "Hai Apna Dil To Aawara.." for the film Solva Saal, and, for the song "Rahi Manwa Dukh Ki Chinta..' for the film Dosti. Pancham composed the songs "Aye Meri Topi Palat Ke Aa" and "Sir Jo Tera Chakraye.." at the age of 9, which were later used in the films Funtoosh and Pyaasa respectively, by his father. R D Burman acted in the films Bhoot Bangla and Pyar Ka Mausam. Mahmood wanted him to act in his film Padosan, but, Pancham refused and the role was offered to Kishore Kumar. R D Burman was the first to introduce double track recording for the film Baharon Ke Sapne, way back in 1968!!
