The music of K Asif's Hulchal was composed by the independant stylist Sajjad Hussain . Just like the other film-makers of that era K Asif also took keen interest in the musical aspect of his films. On Asif's explanation of his requirements for Hulchal's music, Sajjad felt that he was interfering in his work. Therefore, Sajjad left the film incomplete. Out of all, he composed only three songs. "Aaj Mere Naseeb Ne Mujhko Rula Diya..' (Lata), 'Ek Jhoothi Si Tassalli Wo Mujhe Deke Chale..' (Lata) and 'Koi Kis Tarah Se Raaz-e-Ulfat Chhupaye..' (Rajkumari).

After Sajjad's departure, the rest of the music was composed by the talented composer Mohammed Shafi. Without lessening the pecularity of Sajjad's songs, Shafi composed the rest of the songs of the same standard. Songs like 'Main Sadke Tere O Baanke Mere..' (Lata), 'Lagi Hai Aag Dil Mein Kismat Ke Sitare Doob Gaye..', 'O Bichhde Hue Saathi..' and 'Preet Jata Ke Meet Banake..' (Lata-Rafi) were Shafi's unforgettable compositions in Hulchal.
Shamshad Begum sang the song 'So Rahen Hain Bekhabar Sone Waale.' which was very popular in those days. Apart from the songs a long musical dance composition superbly arranged was picturized on Sitara Devi who played an imposrtant role in the film.
